Global Medical Libraries Partnership

Are you interested in donating textbooks and other educational resources to strengthen eye health in developing countries? SEE has partnered with Global Medical Libraries (GML) to connect formal and continuing ophthalmology, optometry, and visual health-related educational materials, with institutions in need.

If you want to donate textbooks, ebooks, or other eye health-related materials, you have two options:

  1. Purchase new books for GML recipients in Cameroon through AmazonSmile, which ships to US diplomatic addresses. Books purchased from this wishlist will benefit the new library at the School of Optometry. Books should be sent to:

Diana Vandermast
Department of State
Medical Unit
2520 Yaounde Place
Washington, DC 20521-2520

If you would like an acknowledgement letter of the in-kind donation for your taxes, simply forward the Amazon Final Invoice email, which includes the order number, order placed date, book title(s), quantity, cost, grand total, shipping address and billing address, along with the Donation Confirmation Form, to Valerie at

  1. Donate your used visual health educational resources, with current information, to any of the GML recipients throughout Africa. Please visit Global Medical Libraries’ webpage for the list of recipients and shipping instructions.

To be reimbursed for your shipping costs, fill out the Reimbursement Request Form below. Please list the title and author, as well as the quantity of each book you sent, to a GML recipient location, and return this form along with (1) the original USPS receipt and (2) the Sender copy of USPS Customs Form Declaration & Dispatch Note for each box.

Send completed reimbursement forms and related paperwork to SEE International:

Mail: SEE International, 5638 Hollister Avenue, Suite 210, Goleta, CA 93117

Please Note: Only books mailed using USPS Media Mail rate will be reimbursed. The following rates are not reimbursable: USPS Priority, First Class or International; UPS; FedEX and DHL.

If you have any follow-up questions, email

If you are looking for another way to support visual health worldwide, consider designating SEE International as your AmazonSmile charity. The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to SEE International.

Without surgery, she faced the possibility of permanent blindness, unable to see her grandchildren again. However, you gave her hope by supporting our programs & our volunteers, & now she can see once again. Let us continue to help grandparents & all blind people alike see their family again.
