Paolena Comouche-Mesa

Paolena serves as the Communications Manager for SEE, where she plays a vital role in marketing the organization’s mission to combat preventable blindness and visual impairments. Since joining SEE in 2019, she has brought her diverse expertise in marketing, journalism, professorship, and content creation to craft compelling narratives, develop strategic messaging, and oversee impactful campaigns that resonate with SEE’s audience and partners.

Holding a BA in Communications and an MA in English, Paolena is currently pursuing a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition with minor specializations in Business and Technical Communication. For her, working with SEE is more than a professional pursuit—it’s a deeply meaningful endeavor. She finds it both inspiring and fulfilling to contribute to the fight against preventable blindness, helping individuals and communities worldwide gain access to vital eyecare services and resources.

When not advancing SEE’s communications efforts, Paolena enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling with her husband.
