Travel to Teach

Travel to Teach offers board-certified ophthalmologists the opportunity to engage in meaningful, hands-on mentorship in humanitarian settings. Participants will work closely with ophthalmic residents who are learning cataract surgery, sharing their expertise and guiding the next generation of eyecare professionals.

General Information

Travel to Teach is a new program that aims to support the educational needs of our international partner sites in the following ways:

  • Making use of the skillset of our hundreds of volunteer doctors in SEE’s network who want to help increase access to high-quality eyecare through education and training
  • Adopting a mentorship model in which volunteers travel to international sites, working side-by-side with local eyecare professionals to enhance the education being offered there
  • Offering hands-on OR training, working with residents, and focusing on subspecialty training
  •
