Meet Lauren Shatz, M.D.

Dr. Shatz  isa MSICS L1 faculty member for SEE. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed a residency in Ophthalmology at Boston University.  He received fellowship training in corneal and refractive surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute before joining a private practice in Northampton, Massachusetts in 2003.

Volunteer work is a vital component of Dr. Shatz’s career. He has volunteered on six SEE International programs since 2013, traveling to Cambodia, India, Vietnam and Honduras at the invitation of local governments.  Prior to working with SEE International he volunteered in Nevis, West Indies with Vision for All, an eye care program providing cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment and diabetic eye care to residents of the island.
