Meet William Myers, M.D.

Dr. Myers is an MSICS L1 faculty member for SEE. He does research in ocular pharmacology including drop-free methods for cataract surgery and optimizing antisepsis of ocular surfaces and mucus membranes.

As a faculty member at Northwestern, he has taught residents in the ambulatory surgery arena and he developed a novel mentorship program in 2002 and directed the PG4 ASC surgical preceptorship for residents for over 10 years.

Currently, he is supervising Northwestern and University of Illinois residents at Jesse Brown VA in their early surgical experience.

Since 2015, he has been a SEE volunteer surgeon and trainer at the Haitian eye residency at HUEH and other outreach surgical clinics. He has performed over 100 MSICS procedures in Haiti and the VA.  He is developing a plan for HUEH, working with the ASCRS Foundation, and coordinating with multiple other NGOs in developing a more robust Haitian ophthalmology residency program.
